SUMMARY:Wilderness Navigation: Learning Map and Compass Course
DESCRIPTION:Join Hiking Hound Adventures\, LLC as we present an introduction to topographic map and compass- your gateway to mastering outdoor navigation! \nLearn the essentials of map reading and compass navigation in this 90 minute class. Together we will spend a half an hour in the classroom. There you will learn map components like scale and contour lines\, as well as compass parts and techniques such as taking bearings and finding your location on a map. \nWe will then spend a full hour with hands-on field instruction. Here we will put theory into practice and help you gain confidence navigating diverse terrain using your map and compass. \nJoin us to unlock the skills needed to confidently explore the great outdoors! \nCompasses and classroom materials will be provided for use during the course. If you would like a compass to take home\, we have them available for purchase. DESCRIPTION:Hiking Hound Adventures\, LLC is excited to be a part of the 10th Annual Radnor Township Great American Backyard Campout! \nWe will be leading three separate hikes during the event. These are being offered completely free\, but space is limited\, so stop by our booth and register early. We will offer two different Nature BINGO! hikes that are fun for the whole family. When the sun sets\, we will be leading a Twilight Treasure Hunt where we use flashlights or headlamps to search the trail for a chance to win prizes. \nIn addition to our free hikes at the campout\, we are happy to offer equipment rentals for the event at a special discounted rate. We will have tents\, sleeping bags\, and sleeping pads available at a first come first served basis. \nIf you would like to request a rental from Hiking Hound Adventures\, LLC\, fill out the form below. All items will have a special event price and will be made available for pickup at the event. After you submit your request\, we will send you a payment link for the available items.
