During this 45-minute course\, Hiking Hound Adventures\, LLC will be on the trail with little ones and their guardians to tackle some of the most asked questions surrounding taking kids into the woods. She is a certified yoga teacher in addition to being a certified pediatric nurse practitioner. She has been practicing yoga for over fifteen years and believes that the skills we learn on the mat\, are able to translate into our everyday lives off the mat. Her classes focus on connecting the body to the breath\, allowing for an equal balance of movement and stillness. You can expect to find components of flow\, strength\, balance\, flexibility\, breathwork\, and meditation in each of her classes. While they are primarily Vinyasa style\, they can vary in theme and expression with the ultimate goal of giving her students the space and freedom to meet their own individual needs each time they step on their mats.

DESCRIPTION:Join Hiking Hound Adventures\, LLC as we present an introduction to topographic map and compass- your gateway to mastering outdoor navigation! \nLearn the essentials of map reading and compass navigation in this 90 minute class. Together we will spend a half an hour in the classroom. There you will learn map components like scale and contour lines\, as well as compass parts and techniques such as taking bearings and finding your location on a map. \nWe will then spend a full hour with hands-on field instruction. Here we will put theory into practice and help you gain confidence navigating diverse terrain using your map and compass. \nJoin us to unlock the skills needed to confidently explore the great outdoors! \nCompasses and classroom materials will be provided for use during the course. If you would like a compass to take home\, we have them available for purchase.
