Wilderness First Aid – Learn Life-Saving Skills in Realistic Outdoor Settings

Wilderness First Aid – Canoe-Based is a two-day, immersive course combining paddling, camping, and hands-on first aid training. Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, paddlers, guides, and leaders, this program teaches the skills needed to respond effectively to emergencies in remote or water-based environments.

Participants will practice primary and secondary assessments, manage head, neck, and spinal injuries, recognize and treat hypothermia and heat emergencies, care for wounds and burns, and stabilize bone and joint injuries using realistic scenarios. All instruction takes place in a dynamic, hands-on setting with paddling and island camping, allowing participants to apply techniques in authentic backcountry conditions.

The course provides all necessary paddling gear, including canoes, paddles, and life jackets, with optional personal camping gear rentals available. Pre-trip materials and assignments prepare participants for a safe and productive experience, while guided instruction ensures skill-building in a supportive environment.

Upon completion, participants will receive Wilderness First Aid certification (valid for 2 years) and leave with the confidence and competence to handle emergencies in remote settings.
