We understand things can happen unexpectedly and you may need to cancel for reasons out of your control. However, a lot of time and effort go into the planning and logistics of our programs and rentals and there can be people waiting to sign up for spots that have been reserved. Please, read our cancellation and refund policy carefully and reach out directly with any questions you may have.

Weather: Our courses, hikes, and trips happen rain or shine. Please remember to dress for the weather and be prepared. In the event that the weather poses a serious hazard, we will make a go/no go decision onsite, at the time of the event. Paddlesports programs may be rescheduled if river levels or conditions are unsafe—final call made 1 hour before start.

SUP Yoga – Special Weather Policy
SUP Yoga requires calm, stable conditions. We’ll make a final weather call 1 hour before class. While light rain is usually fine, if conditions aren’t safe or relaxing (e.g., high winds, heavy rain), we’ll reschedule and notify you by email and text. Your spot will transfer to the new date, or you can request a credit to attend a future course.

IMPORTANT: ALL REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED ONTO THE ORIGINAL FORM OF PAYMENT.

*All refunds issued are less processing fees unless Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC cancels, then a full refund will be issued.

Larger refunds may be issued by check at our discretion and may take additional time to process.

Program-Specific Policies

Summer Camps

Summer camps require extensive planning well in advance of the first day of camp. Staffing, supplies, permits, equipment, instructor scheduling, and participant ratios are finalized weeks before camp begins.

Because of these commitments, the Summer Camp cancellation schedule listed above applies.

Camp activities take place rain or shine and may be modified due to weather while still providing a safe and meaningful experience. Schedule changes, shortened activities, indoor programming, or weather-related modifications do not qualify for refunds.

Transfer requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis based on availability.


Partnership Programs

Some Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC programs are offered in partnership with municipalities, parks, recreation departments, schools, or other organizations.

If registration was completed through one of our partners, all cancellations, refunds, transfers, and registration changes must be handled through the original point of purchase.

Partner organizations establish their own pricing, administrative fees, residency requirements, and cancellation policies. Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC cannot modify or refund registrations made through third-party registration systems.


Rentals

Rentals are reserved in full-day increments from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM Eastern Time.

Rental equipment must be picked up and returned at the designated location by the individual who made the reservation.

No refunds or credits will be issued for equipment returned early.

Late returns, dirty equipment, damaged equipment, and replacement costs are subject to additional fees as outlined in the rental agreement.


Special Event Rentals

Equipment rented specifically for Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC programs or special events is reserved exclusively for that event.

Due to limited inventory and special pricing, these rentals are non-refundable.

If the event is rescheduled, rentals will automatically transfer to the new event date.


Private Events

Private events are custom experiences reserved exclusively for your group.

Because staff, equipment, permits, and scheduling are committed specifically for your event, all private event payments are non-refundable.

Requests to reschedule may be considered on a case-by-case basis based on staff availability, instructor schedules, permits, and location availability.

Private events operate rain or shine unless conditions create an unacceptable safety risk.


Groups & Organizational Programs

Programs for schools, municipalities, camps, nonprofits, scout groups, businesses, and other organizations require a signed agreement.

A non-refundable deposit of twenty-five percent (25%) is required to reserve your date.

The remaining balance is due upon completion of the program unless otherwise stated in your agreement.

Requests to reschedule will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are subject to staff and schedule availability.

Merchandise Returns:

Items may be returned in the same condition and packaging in which it was sold within thirty (30) days of purchase. Certain items cannot be returned these include:

  • Food
  • Fuel
  • First Aid
  • Safety equipment such as climbing gear

We reserve the right to refuse a return for any reason.

Gift Cards

Gift cards for Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC cannot be redeemed for cash. Certain restrictions my apply and items may be excluded. Gift cards expire two (2) years from the date of purchase. Gift cards can only be redeemed on hikinghoundadventures.com and cannot be used for programs where Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC has partnered with a third party nor can they be redeemed on the third party’s website. Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC cannot honor third party gift cards, gift certificates, or coupons.


Program Disclaimers

Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC provides high quality outdoor programs and guided experiences. The following disclaimers apply to all programs unless otherwise noted.

Weather and Conditions

Our programs run rain or shine. Decisions related to severe or hazardous weather are made on-site by the instructor to ensure participant safety. Weather cancellations or delays will be handled according to our published cancellation and rescheduling policies.

Physical Readiness and Health

Participants must be physically able to take part in the activity they register for. By registering, participants acknowledge that outdoor recreation carries inherent risks. Participants are responsible for managing their personal health needs, including medications.

Instructor Role and First Aid Limitations

For most programs, instructors carry a group first aid kit and may provide only basic assistance such as band-aids, CPR, tourniquet application, Narcan administration, and contacting emergency services. Instructors cannot diagnose medical conditions, treat wounds, or provide medications. On multi-day trips, a someone certified Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is present and may make life- or limb-saving decisions and provide medical treatment as needed in accordance with their training.

Gear Responsibility

Participants are responsible for bringing the required clothing and equipment as listed in the program description. Rental gear is available for some programs but must be reserved in advance.

Age Recommendations

Age recommendations listed for each program are guidelines. All are welcome unless a specific safety-based restriction applies. Parents and guardians are responsible for assessing readiness for youth participants.

Public Land Use

Many programs take place on public lands where we do not control trail conditions, water levels, wildlife, or other recreational users. Routes, itineraries, and activities may be adjusted by the instructor for safety and time management.

Minimum Enrollment

Some programs require a minimum number of participants. If enrollment is not met, Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC may reschedule the program or issue credit according to our cancellation policy.

Itinerary Changes

Outdoor conditions can change unexpectedly. Instructors may alter the plan, pace, route, or curriculum at their discretion to maintain safety and program quality.

Safety and Behavior

Participants are expected to follow instructor directions and use good judgment. Unsafe behavior or failure to follow instructions may result in removal from the program without refund.

Accessibility and Adaptive Needs

We welcome participants of all abilities. Some program locations have accessibility limitations beyond our control. Participants with adaptive needs are encouraged to contact us ahead of time so that reasonable accommodations can be discussed.
