Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course with Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC
At Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC, our Leave No Trace (LNT) Level 1 Instructor Course equips participants with the essential skills, ethics, and techniques needed to teach responsible outdoor practices. Over two consecutive days, you’ll spend more than half of the course outdoors, applying Leave No Trace principles in real-world environments. Upon completion, you’ll be certified to lead LNT Skills Courses and Workshops in your community, empowering others to adopt sustainable outdoor practices.
This course is ideal for outdoor instructors, guides, land managers, educators, Scout leaders, and anyone passionate about protecting the outdoors. Participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to teach Leave No Trace principles effectively, both in-person and virtually.
Course Details:
- Total Hours: 16 hours of instruction
- Synchronous (Live): 10 hours (via Zoom)
- Asynchronous (Self-paced): 6 hours
- Required Equipment:
- A computer, tablet, or laptop with internet
- A forward-facing camera and a recording device (smartphone)
- Course Materials:
- Digital course packet (free) or physical packet (optional purchase)
Certification and Expectations:
- Successful completion of all course assignments, live sessions, and a teaching exercise will earn you LNT Level 1 Instructor Certification.
- Certification is valid for two years, with opportunities to co-instruct LNT Level 1 and Level 2 courses as well as the ability to lead Workshops and Skills Courses.
- Course participants must be 18 or older (exceptions may apply with consent).
