We’re looking for dedicated Program Support Staff to assist with the coordination and logistics of our outdoor education programs, ensuring everything runs smoothly for both participants and instructors. Job Overview:
As a Program Support Staff member, you will be the backbone of our outdoor programs, assisting with logistical and operational tasks to ensure everything runs seamlessly. This role involves a variety of responsibilities, including preparing program materials, managing equipment, assisting with participant check-ins, and providing general on-site support for our instructors and participants. You’ll play an essential role in making sure that our outdoor experiences are safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Setup & Logistics: Assist with the preparation, setup, and breakdown of outdoor programs, including preparing equipment, loading/unloading gear, setting up camp, and ensuring all materials are ready for use.
- Equipment Management: Help inventory and maintain outdoor equipment such as backpacks, tents, paddles, life jackets, and cooking gear. Ensure that all equipment is in good condition and properly stored.
- Participant Check-In & Support: Assist with participant check-in, welcome packets, and general customer service. Answer questions, provide directions, and ensure all participants have the information they need for a smooth experience.
- On-Site Support: Provide general support to program instructors by helping manage group logistics, keeping track of participants during activities, and assisting with on-the-ground tasks such as meal preparation, camp setup, or transportation coordination.
- Administrative Assistance: Help with program paperwork, such as waivers, emergency contact forms, and participant evaluations. Provide logistical support for any other administrative needs that may arise.
- Safety and First Aid Support: Be a supportive presence during activities, helping to ensure safety protocols are followed. Assist instructors with managing group dynamics, ensuring participant safety, and responding to minor first aid needs.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with instructors and program managers to ensure smooth coordination and execution of daily activities. Stay in close contact with the leadership team to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Event Coordination: Assist in organizing special events, group activities, or evening programs, including games, group discussions, or skill-building workshops.
Qualifications:
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in the Outdoors: A passion for outdoor activities and a desire to contribute to the success of outdoor programs. Experience in hiking, camping, paddling, or other outdoor pursuits is a plus.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting instructors and fellow staff members to create a positive and safe environment for all.
- Communication: Friendly, professional, and clear communication skills, both in person and via email/phone.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Comfortable with changing schedules and tasks. Able to work in a variety of weather conditions and environments, and adapt to last-minute changes as needed.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to participate in physically demanding tasks, including carrying and moving equipment, setting up camp, and assisting with outdoor activities.
- First Aid/CPR Certification: Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start). Wilderness First Aid is a plus but not required.
- Customer Service: A positive, helpful attitude when interacting with participants, parents, and instructors. You’ll be the first point of contact for many of our guests, so great customer service skills are key.

Schedule & Compensation:
This is a seasonal position, with flexible scheduling based on program needs. Hours may include evenings and weekends. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
