Through a combination of land-based instruction and on-water practice, you’ll learn how to identify river features, read current, and understand common hazards. On the water, you’ll refine key strokes for better control, practice stability and balance drills, and learn foundational river maneuvers such as ferries, peel-outs, and eddy turns. Trip planning, water levels, weather awareness, and gear considerations are also covered to ensure you feel fully prepared for independent day trips.
