What to Expect:

Primary & Secondary Assessments: Learn how to assess and prioritize injuries in remote settings, ensuring proper care until help arrives.

Head, Brain, Neck & Spinal Injuries: Gain critical skills for managing spinal injuries and head trauma in wilderness environments.

Heat-Related Emergencies & Hypothermia: Recognize and treat conditions like heat exhaustion, heatstroke, and hypothermia to keep yourself and others safe in extreme temperatures.

Altitude-Related Illnesses: Learn how to identify, manage, and prevent altitude sickness during high-elevation adventures.

Allergies & Anaphylaxis: Understand how to recognize severe allergic reactions and administer appropriate treatment, including epinephrine use.

Burns, Wounds & Infection Management: Master the techniques for cleaning, dressing, and managing wounds to prevent infection, along with proper first aid for burns.

Bone & Joint Injuries: Learn how to stabilize fractures, sprains, and dislocations in remote environments using splints and improvised materials.

Canoe-Based Wilderness First Aid Course

Combine adventure with first aid training on our Overnight Wilderness First Aid Canoe Trip! Set against the stunning backdrop of the Susquehanna River, this unique 2-day experience blends hands-on medical training with the thrill of paddling and island camping. Designed for scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone venturing into remote environments, this immersive course ensures you’re prepared to handle medical emergencies while fully embracing the wilderness.

What to Expect:

Canoeing Adventure: Paddle along the scenic Susquehanna River, developing paddling skills while navigating a beautiful waterway. All canoes, PFDs, and paddles are provided.

Island Camping Experience: Spend the night on a secluded island, surrounded by the tranquility of the river under a starlit sky.

Meals Included: Enjoy lunch and dinner on day one and breakfast and lunch on day two, all provided as part of the trip.

Optional Gear Rentals: No camping gear? No problem! We offer rental options to make your experience stress-free.

Wilderness First Aid Training: Gain essential life-saving skills, including wound care, fracture stabilization, environmental emergency response, and patient assessment in remote settings.
