Community Partnerships

Why Community Partnerships Matter

Strong partnerships allow us to meet people where they are. Many communities have parks, trails, waterways, and natural areas that are underused or feel inaccessible due to lack of awareness, programming, or confidence. By collaborating with trusted local partners, we help remove barriers to outdoor participation while supporting the long term stewardship of these spaces.

Our partnerships help us:

  • Increase access to green space for individuals and families of all ages and abilities
  • Deliver affordable and relevant outdoor programs within local neighborhoods
  • Adapt programming to reflect the needs, cultures, and interests of each community
  • Promote physical, mental, and emotional well being through time outdoors
  • Encourage environmental responsibility and respect for shared natural resources

Using the Green Spaces Communities Already Have

Not every outdoor experience requires a destination park or a long drive. Many of the most impactful programs happen in neighborhood parks, local preserves, municipal open space, and nearby waterways.

We work with community partners to:

  • Design programs that utilize local trails, parks, and water access points
  • Highlight safe and sustainable ways to recreate close to home
  • Help residents feel confident navigating and caring for their local green spaces
  • Reinforce Leave No Trace principles in everyday outdoor settings

By focusing on nearby nature, we help build lasting habits that extend beyond our programs and into daily life.

Who We Partner With

We are proud to collaborate with a wide range of partners, including:

  • Municipalities and parks departments
  • School districts and educational organizations
  • Community centers and libraries
  • Nonprofit organizations and advocacy groups
  • Health and wellness organizations
  • Outdoor and small local businesses

These partnerships allow us to offer programming that is accessible, community centered, and rooted in shared goals.

This list continues to grow as we build new relationships across the region.

A Shared Commitment to Stewardship

Giving people access to nature also comes with a responsibility to protect it. Many of our partnerships include trail maintenance days, cleanups, educational workshops, and volunteer efforts that support the health of local ecosystems.

As part of our mission, Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC donates 10 percent of profits to conservation and outdoor education organizations and regularly participates in hands on stewardship projects with our partners.
