What to Expect:
Canoeing Adventure: Paddle through the scenic Susquehanna River, honing paddling skills while navigating the stunning waterway. All canoes, paddles, and life jackets are provided.

Island Camping Experience: Camp on secluded island sites, fully immersing yourself in nature under the stars, with no modern facilities available.

Meals Included: Enjoy lunch and dinner on Day 1, and breakfast and lunch on Day 2, with food provided for the entire trip.

Optional Gear Rentals: No camping or paddling gear? We offer rentals to ensure you have everything you need for a stress-free experience.

Leave No Trace Training: Learn essential techniques such as waste disposal, camp setup, and food storage in real-world environments. You’ll practice these skills throughout the trip while exploring the wilderness.

Get ready for an unforgettable 3-day backpacking trip with Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC, where you’ll learn how to minimize your impact in the wilderness while exploring the beautiful Pinchot Trail. This immersive, field-based course teaches Leave No Trace principles while you hike and camp in a backcountry setting, earning certification as a Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor.

What to Expect:
Backpacking Adventure: Hike the Pinchot Trail, covering approximately 13 miles over 3 days, while learning Leave No Trace techniques for responsible outdoor practices.

Backcountry Camping: Set up camp in a primitive backcountry setting with no modern facilities, immersing yourself in nature and practicing Leave No Trace principles every step of the way.

Meals Included: Enjoy lunch and dinner on Day 1, and breakfast and lunch on Day 2, with meals provided throughout the trip.

Optional Gear Rentals: We offer rental options for backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, and other gear to make your experience more convenient.

Course Registration and Pre-Trip Work

Once registered, participants will receive instructions, pre-trip assignments, and detailed packing lists. Some pre-trip work will be required, including reviewing Leave No Trace materials and preparing for the trip.

Certification and Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be certified as Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructors. This certification prepares you to:

• Demonstrate and teach Leave No Trace techniques to friends, family, and community groups
• Lead discussions on outdoor ethics and help others develop their personal outdoor ethics
• Lead Leave No Trace Skills Courses and Workshops in various settings

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Due to the logistics involved, the following applies to field based courses:

• If you cancel more than three weeks before the trip begins, you will receive a full refund, minus processing fees.
• Cancellations made more than two weeks before the trip will receive a 50% refund.
• No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within two weeks of the trip start date.

If unforeseen circumstances require Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC to cancel the trip, you will receive a full refund.

Minimum and Maximum Enrollment

We require a minimum of 4 participants to run the course, with a maximum class size of 10. If the trip doesn’t meet the minimum enrollment, you will have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
